Campaign update, new LEAD graduates, photo & storytelling at our Winter Bash, and blog post of the month

I want to thank all among you who have contributed to our crowdfunding campaign, and helped us fundraise! We’ve raised over $3,000 in just a few days, from more than 30 donors. We received a lot of Facebook posts, tweets, and other social media impressions.

If you haven’t had the chance to learn more about our campaign yet, take three minutes to watch our video and visit our campaign page here: https://nycimmigrantwomen.causevox.com

I’d be immensely grateful if you could continue sharing our campaign with your family, friends, and colleagues.

Here is to creating brighter futures and better tomorrows for young immigrant women and their families!

Thank you,

Arielle

28 new LEAD graduates at Mid-Manhattan, Chatham Square, and Clason’s Point

We are thrilled to welcome 28 new LEAD graduates to our alumni group! Since September, these women have been meeting on a weekly basis at our Chatham Square, Mid-Manhattan, and Clason’s Point NYPL partner locations to build community and gain professional development skills. As usual, their passion, commitment, and potential have impressed our facilitators.

“Every time I left a session I felt inspired and uplifted by these women. I have no doubt they will do great things here in New York City now that they have the confidence and skills they need to go after their dreams.” – Christine Kim, program associate and workshop facilitator

I was eager to learn more about her story and her experience with the New Women New Yorkers LEAD program, which she participated in at Mid-Manhattan Library in spring 2017.” Read more…
