NWNY visits Google — and we’re hiring!
New Women New Yorkers kicked off Immigrant Heritage Month with an incredible evening at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, with The Moth and a group of 11 young women immigrants, storytellers for the night. For the very first time, these young immigrant women shared their stories with family and friends, and made us cry, laugh, and feel inspired and energized. Keep an eye out for our upcoming storytelling performance open to the public in July — we’ll be sharing details soon!
Field trip: Visit to Google NYC
On May 17, NWNY took a group of 20 young immigrant women to visit the offices of Google NYC in Chelsea. We had the chance to meet and chat with several Googlers, who shared their experience and advice about job search, interview preparation, and networking.
