Abbey Longyear, Chief Operating Officer

Abbey Kurtz

Abbey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Evolutionary Studies from SUNY New Paltz. She started as a volunteer at New Women New Yorkers when the organization was founded in 2014. 

Abbey’s professional background is in Human Resources and Nonprofit Operations. She enjoys making work better by ensuring the mission and values of an organization positively impact the employee experience. Previously, she worked with refugees and asylum seekers at the African Refugee Development Center (ARDC) in Tel Aviv, Israel, held multiple positions in the HR and Executive Departments at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), and was most recently the Director of People Engagement at National Debt Relief (NDR). 

Abbey loves hiking mountains and spending time with her husband, son, and 2 cats.
