Educational resources

  • Brainfuse HelpNow @ Brooklyn Public Library  offers personalized academic assistance in core subjects (math, reading, writing, science), a 24/7 Writing Lab, academic content and practice tests for skills-building, and more. 
  • Brainfuse JobNow @ Brooklyn Public Library  is designed to support every step of the job search process, featuring live online coaches who assist in resume/cover letter preparation, and help patrons prepare for job interviews, as well as supplemental content including templates, career assessment exams, and more. 
  • LearningExpress Library 3.0 @ Brooklyn Public Library supports those looking to improve core academic skills, pass standardized tests, prepare for college, join the military, obtain occupational certification, find a job, change careers, become a U.S. citizen and much more. 
  • LinkedIn Learning offers more than 16,000 online courses in seven languages, hosted by expert instructors with real-world experience. 
  • Mango Languages contains 52 language learning courses and 17 English courses for speakers new to English.  
  • Metrix Learning is an online learning management system that helps job seekers upgrade their skills and study for certification exams to help secure employment. 
  • Mometrix eLibrary provides unlimited access to test preparation materials for over 1,000 different standardized exams.

  • City’s First Readers offers early learning programs and activities to foster literacy development for NYC families with children born to age 5.
  • Reach out and Read gives young children a foundation for success in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books at check-ups and encouraging families to read aloud together.
  • LiteracyINC provides reading and learning opportunities for children so that they grow into competent readers, and helps parents learn new skills, get free books, create community, & discover a love for reading.
