Kiara was born and raised in New York City, and she grew up hearing the stories of vibrant cultures of family and friends from all across the world. She was raised in a very politically involved family and learned about building community early on. As a minority woman, she saw firsthand the importance of women’s empowerment and the value of storytelling in underrepresented communities.
Kiara graduated from New York’s Fordham University with a Bachelor’s in Communications and Media Studies, focusing on television, radio, and film, before earning her Master’s in Management and Production for Television from Drexel University. She has worked across many industries and earned experiences she often uses in her storytelling.
Kiara loves arts and culture, and being in New York City, she has her choice of museums, festivals, and bazaars. She likes visiting small, local bookstores and can spend hours searching the shelves.
